HOW IT ALL BEGAN


Bidtracer was founded in 2005 when HVAC contractor and engineer Krishan Mehta called on fellow engineer and long-time friend, Samir Gulrajani, to develop the sales and project management suite.

The software went into development when the invention of WiFi was just five years old. The construction industry needed a solution that centralized all functions of sales management and project delivery from proposal to closeout.

Our brilliant development team grew to partner with manufacturers and distributors around the world, implementing live price lists and creating the functionality to engineer, estimate, and propose a project completely from a mobile device.

For nearly 20 years, Bidtracer has been the top research and development entity for construction CRM technology, delivering over 11 million digital bid invites.

Bidtracer currently has offices in Mequon, Wisconsin and Scottsdale, Arizona with a world-wide employee base.

Kris Mehta, PE, is the President and CEO of BidTracer, bringing over 25 years of construction industry experience and innovation to build a software to increase sales, project efficiency and service. Kris combines his mechanical engineering expertise with leadership, global perspective, and a passion for mentoring through martial arts and holds a Sixth Degree Blackbelt in Taekwon-do.

Samir Gulrajani

Samir Gulrajani is the Executive Vice President and CIO at BidTracer, with 25+ years of software development experience and a background in founding and selling tech companies. He also holds a 3rd-degree black belt in Taekwon-do and has represented Team USA internationally.

Lenny Joseph

Lenny Joseph serves as the Chief Strategy & Commercialization Officer at BidTracer, where he drives strategic growth and product-market alignment to fuel the platform’s expansion. He brings his experience as being a previous VP Global for Johnson Controls in the innovation and technology. His specialty is helping Manufacturers understand how Bidtracer gives their partner channels sales and project tools to give accurate forecasting data helping Manufacturers with supply chain management.

Rajnesh Narain, Lead Software Architect and CTO at BidTracer, holds a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and brings many years of .NET programming experience, specializing in security, performance, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies. He was one of the first on the team and brought in his vast database experience to make our estimating and engineering tools faster in the Cloud for the past 18 years.

His contributions for the last 13 years are vital to continuous improvement and functionality of Bidtracer. Jason DUDLEY

Jason Dudley works as IT Administrator at Bidtracer and grew through his 14 years to be Support Supervisor. Originally he worked at one of our first Mechanical customer out of Milwaukee where his father was the head of Illingworth Mechanical (Currently EMCOR - Illingworth). He has been a part of our award winning support and is a specialist in our Estimating Tool.

Joe Johnson's has been a part of our support team for the past 8 years. His patience, leadership and specialty in teaching others has been instrumental part of helping our customers onboard to custom reports. He is also grew up in Taekwon-do and has 2 gold medals on the international stage representing TeamUSA in Argentina and Puerto Rico recently.

Tim started recently this past year in 2025 to bring in his 15 year experience in Artificial Intelligence. He is part of our team building out our new takeoff tool that automatically reads construction documents for counting and Q&A against the specifications.

Jeremy Crews

Jeremy Crews supports our full infrastructure and provides and monitors our security. He has CNP and COST certificates in network security and operating systems technician. He provides oversite and monitoring of all of our servers in both Scottsdale, AZ and Rackspace at our Core location of Bidtracer. He is our liaison with Subrosa which is our 3rd party security which monitors our infrastructure providing our SIEM and hurristic monitoring.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Krishan Mehta, PE
President, CEO

Degree in Mechanical Engineer from the University of Wisconsin - Madison has worked in the construction industry since graduation and has over 25 years experience.  He started as a project manager for Wenninger Mechanical for 7 years till he came to work with his dad's HVAC company. He was the first to bring in controls into the hvac manufacturer rep business his dad had built since the 70s. Kris is also a Professional Engineer.

Kris has a 6th degree black belt in Taekwon-do and has owned a school for many years teaching kids to grow up with strong confidence and a will to succeed.  

Kris has a passion for languages and is fluent in Hindi, Panjabi, and Spanish. He has been instrumental in launching our product for Johnson Controls, Inc. in Latin America.

Samir Gulrajani
Executive Vice President, CIO

Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineer from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with 25 years' experience building software systems from the ground up.  After selling 2 companies, Samir worked with Kris to build a web based dashboard to pull all the energy readings from Johnson Controls Metasys system creating a reporting mechanism to allow building owners to bill commercial tenants. He also built an online webstore for selling Johnson Control's parts all over the world.

Samir is a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwon-do and was a representative of the TeamUSA - Taekwon-do team and at the 2013 and 2015 World Championship in London he earned a silver medal and two bronze medals for the United States of America.  

Rajnesh Narain
Lead Software Architect, CTO

Masters in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with over 13 years of .net programming experience.  He has been with Bidtracer since the early years.  Security and performance are his domains of expertise along with keen interest in utilizing the latest technologies. Raj is known as the speed guru. He is a Microsoft Certified Software Developer.
When not programming, he is hard to locate as he loves to camp and travel throughout the United States. If you need someone to drive you across the country, Raj will be the first to raise his hand.

We have finally got him to love Taekwon-do and has been working with Kris to obtain his black belt.
